About System Maple Path
Founded in 2016 in Jeonju, System Maple Path maintains offline inventory records for rare wallet collectors across Korea.
Our Story
System Maple Path Co., Ltd. was established in 2016 in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, by Min-jae Yoon, a former museum registrar who spent seven years cataloguing textile collections at the National Folk Museum of Korea. He noticed that private collectors of rare wallets — pieces often worth more than a family car — kept their records on phones that failed, apps that shut down, or loose envelopes of receipts.
The registered business name is System Maple Path Co., Ltd. We chose “Maple” for the warm tone of aged ledger paper and “Path” for the deliberate, step-by-step process of building a permanent archive.
What We Believe
A wallet collection is a material history. The grain of Togo leather, the patina on palladium hardware, the faint impression of a former owner’s initials inside a lining — these details deserve the same care as any museum object. Paper ledgers survive power outages, software updates, and account closures.
Our Team
Min-jae Yoon — Founder and lead cataloger. Trained in archival photography and hand bookbinding. Handles sessions for collections of ten pieces or more.
Soo-ah Kim — Senior cataloger since 2019. Specialises in Hermès stamp dating and Goyard chevron pattern identification. Conducts condition reports and provenance research.
Ji-hoon Lee — Bindery technician. Rebinds ledgers and prepares archival boxes in our Jeonju workshop.
Working With Collectors
We serve private individuals, family estates, and a small number of boutique resellers who need documentation before consignment. Most clients visit our Jeonju office; we also travel to Seoul and Busan for full-day catalog sessions.
We do not buy, sell, or authenticate wallets. Our role is documentation only.
Community
Since 2018 we have hosted quarterly open mornings where local collectors may view sample ledger formats and ask questions about record-keeping — no appointment required, though space is limited to twelve visitors.
